Excavator Hydraulic System Maintenance Standards

The hydraulic system is critical for controlling the movements of an excavator, and its maintenance should focus on anti-pollution, anti-leakage, and anti-wear.

First, strictly control the quality of hydraulic oil. Use only the anti-wear hydraulic oil specified in the equipment manual. Replace the oil after the first 1,000 hours of operation, and every 2,000 hours thereafter. When replacing, completely drain the old oil, clean the inner wall of the oil tank and the filter screen to avoid performance degradation caused by mixing old and new oil.

Hydraulic filter maintenance must be carried out synchronously. Replace the return oil filter every 500 hours and the suction filter every 2,000 hours. During replacement, check for metal debris on the filter surface. If any is found, inspect the hydraulic pump and hydraulic cylinders for wear and address potential issues promptly.

Seal inspection is the key to preventing leakage. Check for oil stains at hydraulic pipeline connections and hydraulic cylinder piston rod seals weekly. Replace seals immediately if leakage is detected to avoid hydraulic oil loss and environmental pollution.

During operation, pay attention to the hydraulic system load and prohibit prolonged overloading. Before shutdown, retract the hydraulic rods to the neutral position to prevent the system from staying under high pressure for a long time. Meanwhile, measure the hydraulic system pressure monthly to ensure it falls within the specified range. Adjust the relief valve promptly if pressure is abnormal to prevent component damage.
